How to Find the IP Address of Your Router - 2018 Updated

In the next blog, I hope to write about the home router configuration which needs to be logged in. The router needs to know the IP address again. Non-technical users usually do not know anything about the IP address, but they have to hand over their own router.

Suppose that the incoming blog is too long, I decided to start with this cheat sheet to get the IP address of the router. All routers have a web-based interface and are therefore configured with a web browser. Some routers can be accessed by name (they usually prevent DNS queries), all routers can access their IP address.

Routers require a user ID and password for restricted access, but it also means that you need to know the IP address. The IP address is written four digits separately from the time period. Some home networks use IP addresses, which start from 19,168. The router often has an IP address such as 19 or Advertising If your Internet Service Provider (ISP) has set up your router, they both know their IP address and user ID / password. In my experience, no information shared with ISP customers has been shared.

With a self-installed router, you can get an IP address from a manufacturer's document (it is believed that it has not changed during the installation). Sometimes it happens on the label under the router. Once the network is set up, then every computer on the network knows the router's IP address. If you know a secret handshake, you can distribute beans. However, vocabulary is on the way. Apple device refers to router as "router". Windows is called "Standard Gateway" borrowed from TCP / IP. Chrome OS router is called "gateway".

Android lets you know the IP address of your router, so that you can install the application. Windows users can start the command prompt and can write "ipconfig" to display the default gateway. This output appears on Windows 7:

Windows IP Configuration Ethernet Adapter Local Area Connection: Connection-specific DNS suffix :

IPv4 address. ,,,,,,,,,: 19 2,168.5.29

Subnet mask. ,,,,,,,,,

Standard Gateway,,,,,,,: 19

Command output is similar to Windows XP. If the computer uses Wi-Fi on the system instead of "LAN" instead of Ethernet, see "Wireless Network Connection". The same ipconfig command works on the Windows 8 desktop side, which also identifies the router as the "default gateway". Windows 8 is known as a Wi-Fi Wi-Fi adapter, while the cable connection is referred to as Ethernet Ethernet adapter.
